EVOLVE2CARE and RAISE Suite Successfully Host Joint Webinar on Open Science in Transitional Care

RAISE Suite participated in the EVOLVE2CARE Joint Webinar Series, “Connecting the Dots in Transitional Care: Open, Trusted & Interoperable Care.”, in which our project co-organized the first session of the series titled “Impact and Use of Open Science in Transitional Care”. The event took place on 11 June 2026 and successfully brought together researchers, innovators, Living Labs, policymakers, and healthcare stakeholders to explore how Open Science can drive the democratisation of data and fortify innovation across digital health and care ecosystems.

Setting the Stage for Interoperable Care

The webinar opened with a comprehensive introduction to the EVOLVE2CARE project by the Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). This opening segment outlined the project’s scope, objectives, and broader vision, clearly establishing the urgent need for more open, trusted, and interoperable approaches within transitional healthcare.

The RAISE Suite Contribution

Following the introduction, our partner from Cyclopt, Dimosthenis Natsos presented on behalf of the RAISE Suite project. His session detailed our project’s ongoing mission to advance Open Science and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data practices.

Key highlights from the RAISE Suite presentation included:

  • The Value of Open Access: Emphasising why researchers must proactively make their data FAIR to accelerate scientific discovery.
  • Controlled Openness: Highlighting the critical balance required when handling sensitive health and care data.
  • Responsible Data Sharing: Reaffirming that while data sharing accelerates innovation, it must be underpinned by robust governance, strict privacy safeguards, and ethical handling.

RAISE Suite champions a balanced framework that enables the seamless sharing and reuse of data without compromising patient privacy, security, or public trust.

Bringing Theory to Practice

To illustrate these concepts, Dimosthenis Natsos walked participants through a practical scenario demonstrating how RAISE Suite tangibly supports transitional care.

Through the RAISE Portal and machine-actionable Data Management Plan (maDMP) governance, the project enforces privacy-by-design protocols. This infrastructure supports optimal data management across the entire research data lifecycle. Ultimately, this leads to:

  • Enhanced collaboration among healthcare and research entities.
  • More informed, data-driven decision-making.
  • Tangibly better outcomes for both caregivers and patients.

Fostering European Synergies

Through this joint initiative, RAISE Suite continues to actively promote the adoption of Open Science, FAIR principles, and trustworthy data-sharing practices within the broader R&I community. This event was a significant step in strengthening synergies between European initiatives dedicated to building open, ethical, and interoperable digital health ecosystems.

The RAISE Suite consortium extends a warm thank you to the EVOLVE2CARE team, our speakers, and all the participants who contributed to this vital conversation on the future of Open Science in healthcare.
