Predicting Quality of Life for Cancer Survivors and Stroke Patients
In the Health domain, two piloting activities are performed to predict frailty and Quality of Life. The RAISE Suite SDK integrates with clinical systems and smart devices (wearables, home sensors) to collect clinical data from participants in Greece, Belgium, Spain, and Canada. This pilot focuses on the interoperability of datasets and secure translational data exchange across borders while adhering to strict privacy regulations like GDPR.
Mobility: Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities
This pilot aims to enhance sustainable urban mobility in Thessaloniki, Greece by making public transport a more attractive alternative to private car use It employs Bluetooth sensors in 1,000 city taxis and other strategic locations to passively capture real-time traffic flow and congestion data. The project integrates the RAISE Suite SDK into a central data hub to manage large-scale mobility datasets while ensuring high standards of privacy and security.
Forestry: Soil Mission
This study monitors a forested area in Greece using drones equipped with multispectral, thermal, and high-resolution cameras alongside soil sensors. The data collection supports informed decision-making regarding ecosystem protection, erosion vulnerability, and the reforestation of areas affected by logging. The RAISE Suite SDK is integrated into the cloud platform to combine aerial data with ground-level sensor readings for near real-time analysis.
Ocean: Healthy Oceans Mission
This pilot monitors Essential Ocean variables such as temperature, salinity, oxygen, and pressure using sensors released in the West Atlantic. The RAISE Suite SDK is integrated directly into the physics sensors of marine autonomous platforms like ocean gliders. The goal is to make valuable trial data findable and accessible to the broader research community by breaking down traditional data silos.
Food Waste Management: Adaptation to Climate Change
This use case monitors food waste habits among hundreds of university students and staff in a campus restaurant living lab setting. It combines data from kitchen intelligence systems with the GameBus app to provide gamified coaching designed to influence behavioral change. Researchers use the system to track the impact of specific waste-reduction practices and develop reusable frameworks for other institutional dining facilities
