RAISE Suite was presented at the 8th Conference on Sustainable Mobility – CSuM 2026, held from 1–3 July 2026 in Skyros, Greece, through a scientific contribution by project partner CERTH/HIT.
During the conference, Thomas Dimos (CERTH/HIT) presented the work “Open and Distributed Research Ecosystems for Intelligent Transport Data”, exploring how federated mobility analytics can enable organisations to analyse transport data while keeping sensitive raw data within their own infrastructure.

The presentation addressed key challenges in mobility data, including fragmentation, privacy, data ownership and reproducibility, and introduced a computation-to-data approach, where analytical workflows are brought to the data instead of transferring datasets to a central location. This helps preserve data sovereignty while reducing regulatory and operational risks.
The work builds on research that started during the RAISE project and is now continuing within RAISE Suite, where it is further developed in the context of the project’s mobility use case led by CERTH. The RAISE Suite mobility pilot focuses on data collection and analysis for urban mobility, providing a real-world environment for advancing FAIR-by-design and reproducible mobility research.


At CSuM 2026, the approach was demonstrated using a synthetic electric vehicle dataset, showing how detailed insights into EV energy consumption can be generated without exposing the underlying raw mobility data. Persistent Identifiers were also used to support the traceability and reproducibility of datasets and analytical workflows.
The work reflects RAISE Suite’s broader ambition to advance FAIR-by-design, privacy-preserving and reproducible research data infrastructures, with applications for researchers, mobility stakeholders and public authorities.

CSuM 2026, organised under the theme “Green and Digital Transition”, brought together researchers, decision-makers and mobility professionals to explore how digital technologies can support more sustainable and efficient transport systems.
The event serves as an international platform for knowledge dissemination and collaborative exchange of good practices among researchers, decision makers, service providers, academicians and students active in the domain of sustainable transportation.
The conference was organized by the University of Thessaly, Department of Civil Engineering, Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory – TTLog, in collaboration with the University of Kentucky and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
