From 29 June to 3 July 2026, RAISE Suite proudly participated in the CityMinds Summer School 2026 in Thessaloniki, Greece, contributing to a dynamic five-day programme focused on Smart Urban Mobility, City Logistics, and Entrepreneurial Innovation.
Jointly organised by CERTH/HIT and AUTH/LASCM, the CityMinds Summer School brought together students from Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) countries to explore how innovative thinking can address real urban mobility challenges. Through hands-on learning and a “concept to market” approach, participants worked on transforming ideas into practical, market-oriented solutions for smarter and more sustainable cities.
Unlocking Innovation Through Open Data Spaces
RAISE Suite was represented by the Project Coordinator, Asst. Prof. Evdokimos Konstantinidis from the Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).
During his session, titled “Unlocking the potential for innovation by Enabling cities open data spaces,” Prof. Konstantinidis highlighted the role of open, secure, and decentralised data ecosystems in shaping the future of urban innovation. His presentation demonstrated how data spaces can support new solutions for mobility and logistics, helping cities make better use of data while ensuring trust, accessibility, and responsible data sharing.
The session also connected the RAISE Suite vision with the practical needs of young entrepreneurs, researchers, and future innovators, showing how FAIR-by-design data workflows and open data infrastructures can support the development of viable, scalable, and impact-driven solutions.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Smart City Innovators
RAISE Suite’s participation offered students a closer look at how open data spaces can become a key enabler for smart city applications. By introducing the value of decentralised data sharing and data-driven collaboration, the session encouraged participants to think beyond isolated solutions and consider how open data ecosystems can support long-term innovation.
The event also strengthened RAISE Suite’s links with leading research and innovation actors in Greece, while raising awareness of the project among emerging entrepreneurs, urban mobility stakeholders, and future professionals in the European smart city ecosystem.
